NaturVet’s Digestive Enzymes Plus Pre & Probiotic

NaturVet Digestive Enzymes Plus Probiotic Dog & Cat Powder Supplement

For the month of July, Chewy sent us NaturVet’s Digestive Enzymes Plus Pre & Probiotic.  Since my Cavalier Ginger has aged she has had some digestive issues.  For the last two years I have put her on a cooked diet and have been giving her digestive enzymes which have helped her immensely.  I wanted to give this brand a try, there is another brand that I have been giving her that I ‘ve been pleased with but it does not include probiotics like this brand.

If you don’t know what digestive enzymes are, they can help improve your pet’s digestion and absorption of nutrients, aid in the absorption of vitamins and minerals, reduce bloating, constipation and gas and help with food sensitivity’s.

The four basic digestive enzymes are:

  • Protease – helps break down and digest protein
  • Amylase – helps break down and digest carbohydrates and starches
  • Lipase – helps break down and digest fat
  • Cellulase – helps break down fiber

This product contains all four.  Other ingredients include:  Fructoligoosaccharide, Dried Aspergillus oryzae Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus niger Fermentation Solubles, Dried Trichoderma longibrachiatum Fermentation Product, Carica Papaya, Dried Bacillus coagulans Fermentation Product and Maltodexrtrins.

As you can see in the picture, the product came in a plastic 4 oz. twist jar.  On it I noticed a small seal with the words, “safety seal.”  The seal was a little difficult to peel off which I guess is a good thing.  However, when I twisted the jar to open it there was powder everywhere.  Perhaps the company should instead place a protective seal surrounding the entire rim under the twist off cap.

The instructions state to add 1/4 rounded teaspoon to each cup of dry or wet food.  This also should be given to pups 6 weeks and older.  You can add this supplement to every feeding.

The first time I sprinkled it on her food, she ate it with no problem.   I have been giving this to her with every feeding.  Ginger eats once in the morning and once in the early evening.  We’ve been using it for two weeks now and she’s been doing well on it.

This seems like a great product, I am not crazy about the seal on top……..just be careful when opening it.  Also, the product does not include a scooper like the other product that I use.  It’s a convenient to have one, as I leave it in the actual jar.

NaturVet Digestive Enzymes Plus Probiotic Dog & Cat Powder SupplementI do love that this product is made in the USA and this product can be given to cats as well, which is great if you have multiple pets.  The product is Cold Pressed for Maximum Benefits.  Along with the enzymes the product includes pre and probiotics which also aid with digestion.  This company also offer other supplements such as cranberry relief for urinary tract support and bladder support for bladder control.

I would definitely purchase the product and recommend it.  If you have a pet with stomach issues, you may want to give this product a try to see if you notice a difference.  I have.    If you are interested in purchasing these and trying them for yourself you can purchase them here.

*Disclaimer: I received this item free of charge from Chewy.com in an exchange for my honest review.
