Chewy’s August Surprise – Canidae Life Stages Bakery Snacks

For the month of August, Chewy sent us Canidae’s Life Stages Bakery Snacks with Turkey, Quinoa & Butternut Squash.

These treats are oven-baked for a crunchy texture that is easy to snap and helps clean teeth.  They are made with just 7 nutritious main ingredients and are made in the USA by the family owned company known as Canidae.

Unlike some of the other treats that we have received in the past, these were not moist, they were more of a biscuit type texture.  They did have a groove in the center for snapping in half which is nice if you want to give your dog just half, you can see the picture below.

Upon opening the bag, the treats had a  sweet smell to them.  I wasn’t sure if Ginger would like them, she’s tends to like soft, moist treats.

Our house guest this month was Cookie, the Cavachon.  (You can read more about the Cavachon breed on my other blog post)  Of course, he was a willing participant and Ginger was willing to share.

I gave the dogs each half a piece.  When I snapped them in half they didn’t seem to crumble which was good.  The dogs really liked the treats as they ate it all, and they seemed to want more so I gave them seconds. The dogs really liked them which surprised me because again Ginger doesn’t care much for drier type treats.

The dogs really loved these treats and I especially like them because there are minimal ingredients and they are made in the USA.
