Chewy’s May Surprise

Nutramax Cosequin Maximum Strength with MS.

For the month of May, Chewy sent us Nutramax Cosequin Maximum Strength with MS.

The reason I decided to try this is because my Cavalier King Charles, Ginger will be 13 this year. Although I have doggy steps that lead to our bed and sofas, she still has climb a small set of stairs to go outside and to get back in the house. I wanted to provide her with a supplement that will help improve her joints and from what I read about this product it seemed it would do the job.

According to Chewy’s website, “Cosequin plays an important role in maintaining optimal joint function. Healthy articular (joint) cartilage is crucial to joint utility. Cosequin helps support cartilage production and protect existing cartilage from breakdown. Cosequin is the only glucosamine sulfate supplement that has been shown safe, effective, and bioavailable in peer-reviewed, published, controlled, U.S. veterinary studies.”

This product has MSM in it which is short for methylsulfonylmethane. It’s an organic sulfur-containing compound that’s used to improve immune function and lower inflammation. MSM is a popular joint health supplement that can help restore healthy bodily tissue. The product also contains glucosamine and chondroitin for mobility, cartilage and joint support.

This came in a 9.52 oz. bag and contains 60 chews.  When I first gave these to Ginger, she seemed to really enjoy the flavor. They are a small and chewy treat. I am not sure if they are working as I have only started her on it for about two weeks, but I am confident that they will, I just have to give them a few more weeks. According to the website, an initial administration period of 4 – 6 weeks is needed to notice a difference for some. Some dogs may show a response in a shorter period of time.

In terms of taste she seems to like them. She is 15 pounds so I have been giving her one every morning.  I also like that the product contains Omega 3’s which help with your pet’s skin and coat. It’s also made in the USA.

I would definitely recommend that you give this supplement a try especially if you have a senior dog struggling with joint problems.  If you are interested in purchasing these and trying them for yourself you can purchase them by clicking here.

*Disclaimer: I received this item free of charge from Chewy.com in an exchange for my honest review.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the loss of our beloved darling, Ginger. She passed away July 16, 2020 at 14.5 years old. She battled CHF for as long as she could but her little body could take no more. Our hearts are shattered.
