Dog Treats using Baby Food

I was looking for easy to make dog treat recipes on Pinterest  when I came across a  pin that had a picture of baby food and I thought that was pretty interesting.  This came from the My Life Cookbook website and I did change the recipe a bit since I was using silicone bake-ware and not cookie cutters as the original recipe suggested.

You will need 2 ½ cups of Whole Grain Oat Cereal

2 jars of chicken with broth

3 jars of Carrot, Corn and Pumpkin

I did buy various flavors to try them on different batches

I preheated the oven to 350 degrees.

I first went ahead and poured all the ingredients in a bowl.  I then used a large spoon to mix everything together until it became a sticky doughy mix.

Once they are done remove the baking mold from the oven and let it cool down.  The biscuits should pop out very easily.

Some of the treats, especially the center ones were softer in the center so if you want a more crunchy treat you can leave them in the oven a little longer, just keep checking them so that they do not burn.

I would say that they came out pretty delicious, as Ginger devoured one.

You can make different variations of this by adding other vegetables such as peas or green beans.  You can also make your own baby food if you prefer with a food processor if you don’t want to use ready made baby-food.  You can keep these in the fridge for about a week.

If you make these, let me know how they came out and whether or not your dog enjoyed them.  Ginger did.

I will be reviewing the molds that I used for this recipe on a separate blog post.  Stay tuned.
