Merrick Fresh Kisses Double-Brush Mint Breath Strips Grain-Free Dental Dog Treats.

For the month of November, we decided to try Merrick Fresh Kisses Double-Brush Mint Breath Strips Grain-Free Dental Dog Treats.  I had two willing candidates who wanted to try the treats.  Stella the Mauxie and Remy the Bichon-Frise.  You can read Stella’s review of the coconut flavored ones on our Instagram.

These treats are designed to freshen your dog’s breath. They are shaped like small tooth brushes and are made of a special blend to help fight plaque, tartar, and freshen breath.

Because these are grain-free they are easily digestible since they are made with natural peas and and do not contain anything artificial.  These come in different sizes and are cooked in the USA without any grains, gluten, corn, soy, or artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.

The ingredients include:  Pea Starch, Tapioca Starch, Vegetable Glycerin, Gelatin, Natural Flavor, Sunflower Lecithin, Calcium Alginate, Alfalfa Extract, Turmeric, Spearmint Oil.

According to the Chewy website, they help

• Clean teeth, fight plaque and tartar, and freshen doggy breath with unique shape and natural formula.
• Are designed with a double-brush action to get in between teeth and help keep them clean with every bite.
• Are infused with breath strip pieces throughout that are made with all natural spearmint oil to keep breath even fresher.
• Are easily digestible since it’s made with natural peas, alfalfa, tapioca and gelatin, with no potatoes or grains.
• Sized for medium dogs from 25 to 50 pounds, and are made in the USA with no grains, gluten, corn, soy, or artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.

Remy was eager to try these, even though when I  first opened the package they had a strong minty scent.  I gave him one and he came back for more. The box, however, does state one chew per day.   You can definitely smell the oils and I am pretty sure if given on a daily basis these will keep your dog’s breath minty fresh and clean.

I would definitely purchase these to give as treats for my clients.  They seem like they would really do the trick to keep their breath clean.  I also love that they are made in the USA and are grain free, plus Merrick is a great company and we have purchased many of their products.
