PetKinds Beef Tripe Treats
For the month of September, Chewy sent us PetKinds beef Tripe Treats. We wanted to give these a try because they are grain-free and I have never given Ginger, tripe or any snack that contains it.
Listed below are benefits of the treats as per the company.
- They are protein-packed and are great for picky eaters and have a delicious scent your pal will love.
- These grain-free tripe treats absorb digestive juices and are a wonderful choice for doggies with sensitive stomachs.
- They are a healthy and nutritious formula which helps promote a lustrous coat and healthy skin with naturally occurring omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.
- They are a healthy snack suitable for both cats and dogs of all ages and sizes as they are easily broken along the perforations.
- They are filled with natural and healthy ingredients, they are perfect for training the smallest member of the family.
The ingredients include: Green Beef Tripe, Potato, Beet Syrup, Pure Vegetable Glycerin, Sea Salt, Natural Smoke Flavor, Potassium Sorbate, and Garlic.
These came in a 6 oz. bag and the treats are shaped liked bacon strips. They are a nice size and were easy to cut in half. I have to say that these treats stunk to high heaven. The odor was pretty strong even though the package states “friendly smell.” When I opened the bag the girls could smell it a mile away.
Daisy who was our guest for the week decided to participate in the taste test. I gave Ginger and Daisy half of strip and they devoured it. They really seemed to like the taste. The smell obviously didn’t bother them at all if anything I think that attracted them to the treats even more.
Because the packaging states that these can be given to cats, I tried giving it to my cats Trinidad and Tobago and they were not interested at all.
I have read many benefits of giving dog’s raw tripe so this is something that I want to look into more. Overall, the treats were a hit with the girls and I like that they are made in the USA. I will warn you that they do have a strong odor, so if this is something that may bother you, please be forewarned.
I would definitely purchase these for Ginger and our future guests. I always like to have a buffet of treats available here, and am glad to add tripe to the menu.
